I phoned cytogeneticist Antonio Lima-de-Faria in Sweden earlier today to wish him Happy Birthday 100! I don’t personally know anyone else who is 100 and certainly no other scientist still producing papers and books at 100!
He is one of science’s treasures—indeed: “Knight of the North Star,” as decorated by the king of Sweden.
Antonio told me there was a concert today in his home town in Portugal in celebration of his birthday. And a party in his rose garden atop a fjord in Lund, Sweden with family and close friends.
Again, Happy Birthday, Antonio! We very much look forward to your next paper!
