Dorak Treasure Hoax & Bloomsbury Academic’s Sloppy Publishing

JAMES MELLAART’S YORTAN GODDESS, Drawing by Hydie Lloyd

Bloomsbury Academic‘s new overpriced, boring and sloppy publication of David Stronach’s memoir with badly reproduced images is an affront to students of archaeology.  The one chapter on the so-called Dorak Treasure that could have saved the book is basically a story regurgitation and distortion of fact.  Particularly insulting is the failure to hold Stronach accountable for decades of loyalty to James Mellaart’s deception and subverting of history.  Following are links to my extensive reporting on Dorak, which the book largely dismisses.
